Are you affected? Effected by an illness, saddened by the devastation that our world is faced with, feeling pain for your loved ones in danger? The world is nowhere near perfect and I bet we can all agree on that. So what is stopping us from doing everything in our power to help the people, animals, environment, or whomever, who needs it? Organizations, foundations, charities, and nonprofits are all full of incredible people who do what they can to bring awareness to different causes that are in need of extra help. The thing is, these organizations are just the start. The hardest part is bringing awareness to the causes and making sure the whole world knows there are others going through extremely hard times. This is when social media is a literal gift from God.

Technology today has allowed us to stay connected all over the world. On top of that, social media allows us to post pictures, tag people, and have millions of humans interact at the same time. A foundation that has a big crowd and support basis, both in person and over social media, is the “Make a Wish” foundation. This foundation is a non-profit organization that takes “wishes” from kids who have life-threating medical conditions and try to make them come true.

The extraordinary use of social media is that it helps “Make a Wish”

stand on a huge platform. This platform is where a lot of communication goes on, especially with famous people. “Make a Wish” is huge on Twitter and we see them tweeting people like Justin Bieber and getting incredible results from it. In this case, tweeting someone such as Justin Bieber can make them aware of something they probably wouldn’t have known about, and help fight and stand up for a cause that deserves a chance.

Without the use of social media these organizations would have a hard time getting the support we need from people all over the world. It connects us, all of us, from celebrities, to the government, to people who may only have five followers. It allows us to stand together and be there when a cause needs it the most.
