“A nice person is a 'yes' person, whereas a good person is a person who accepts their responsibility in things and moves forward and tries to constantly evolve and isn't afraid to say no or challenge someone or be honest or truthful.”- Miranda Kerr. Life is not simple. Challenges, heartbreak, loss, these are things that can happen in life, but its one’s choice whether or not to overcome bad things. I will be the first to admit that I am not perfect. I’ve had my fair share of loss, heartbreak, and struggles, but if I have learned one thing that matters over my life time, it is to be the best person I can be.

Who I want to be is continuously running through my head when I am thinking about my personal brand. It is not important to me whether or not people like me, but it is very important that I perceive myself as a good person. Throughout my lifetime, one way I have built up my personal brand is through social media; Facebook posts, tweets, and Instagram posts. I have tried to maintain a trustworthy, transparent, honest, interactive and caring

appearance. To some their appearance may not be important via this media may not be important, but I look at my social media platform and think about everyone who follows me. I want to give my followers a good feeling when they click onto my page. Because of this, I post conversational tweets, have interactive Instagram captions and acknowledge when people tweet back to me or comment on my posts. These responses and actions, in my opinion, are what sendoff good vibes to my followers.

Personally, I enjoy making my posts in this format with these traits. Not only do I think it allows people to trust me and enjoy what I have to say, but it allows people to know I’m hearing what they say back to me and that I appreciate their responses. While reading the book, “Trust Agents,” there were three points that I picked up on and have tried to keep in mind while continuously building my personal brand on social media. These points were; “make the community feel like you’re one of them”, “connect and work well with people. Develop an understanding.” and “no matter how great you think you are, you can’t do it alone.” These three things are very important when I express my brand and myself on social media. It keeps me more self-aware and conscientious to be interactive with my followers. I try to always be honest and transparent about my life and what messages I’m trying to get across where appropriate. By taking this approach, I am confident that I will maintain my followers and their respect. They will feel heard, feel cared about and know they are reading real and truthful posts on my social media. This perception is better then my followers clicking off the page because they think I’m just posting for the likes.

I strongly believe that being a good person involves much more than how you express yourself on social media. With that being said, the same traits I share on my platforms are what I try to live and convey in every other aspect of my life. It is important to be the authentic person you are both in life and on social media because no one likes a catfish. Every day I work harder to expand my personal brand, grow as a person and share those experiences with my followers. Consistency is necessary when it comes to brands and as I expand my social media platform it will be necessary to continue being myself in the same way as I been with genuine life experiences that others can relate to and learn from.
